By the Beginning of June Varna Is Expecting Over 9000 Foreign Tourists

Over 9000 tourists, mainly from Austria and Germany, are expected to arrive in Varna by the start of the active season in early June. After fetching the first group of tourists, German tour operator ‘Kurort Club’ will fetch the second group on 13 March. On 11 April the first Austrian tourists will arrive, brought by Austrian tour operator ‘Senören Reisen’ and Bulgarian company ‘BTS’, both of them servicing Austria’s Pensioners’ Union.

An order for chartered flights on the line Oslo-Varna-Oslo from the beginning of April has been placed by the Norwegian Air Shuttle company, and chartered flights for French tourists have been ordered to start from the end of April. Information from TUI – Bulgaria indicates a 30% increase of reservations by British tourists. The expected number of Scandinavians has also increased.

Information from Varna Airport indicates an expected 10% growth of tourists and flights this summer.

The new regular airline London-Varna-London of British Airways will be launched on 29 March. The opening of a regular line Varna-Paris of ‘Bulgaria Air’ is under consideration. In the summer the national airline company will resume its regular flights on the line Varna-Amsterdam-Varna and will open new lines to Milan and Paris.

BGN 400 000 will be allocated by the Ministry of Transport for the construction of a temporary Arrivals terminal at Varna Airport.
